With a new char I sometimes change the scale if I have a particular vision for their size. I freely change hairstyles and facepaint. I use 'save qqq' to get me out of the game in under a second with a save name I can actually interpret. Not for cheating, but for stuff that should, by all rights, be part of any kind of sane menu system.
